The Importance of Education in a Woman's Life

In Girl, by Jamaica Kincaid, a mother gives advice to her young daughter about many different issues in life. The mother shows love and family togetherness by educating her daughter with her beliefs and experiences that she's encountered throughout her life. The mother very blatantly tells her daughter things she must not do in order to not be called a "slut." There are many things a young girl must learn when she is becoming a woman. There is no better teacher than her mother. There are three very important types of advice that should be given to a young girl when she is becoming a woman; education, boys and the importance of overcoming peer pressure.

Her children and peers will always look up to a woman with an education. She is also assured a better income and is seen in a higher class.

Boys will deceive a girl to get whatever they want but most importantly, sexual intercourse. Although boys don't seem to be as big of a deal as some would make them, they are. When boys are maturing into men and experiencing puberty their entire focus is on girls and sexual intercourse. It's like boys have two brains but unfortunately they think with the wrong one. They know how to obtain a girl's heart and they also know just how to break it. Even though the world seems like it's never going to be the same and the pain will never heal, it does. It takes a short period of time to get over a boy but with the help of friends anything is possible.

The last most difficult experience in a young girl's life is the peer pressure. Peers in school and outside of school may seem like friends but no one is a friend if they pressure her to do something she does not want to do. There are many situations a young girl is put into such as: doing drugs, drinking alcohol & sexual intercourse. At this young age a girl does not fully know what is out there in life. Since men fought wars and ran the enterprise they started to consider themselves superior of all. Women were given a subordinate role. The importance of Girl’s Education is a burning topic of discussion in the recent times now. Mere equality for women is not sufficient. Since most of the institution of societies is dominated by male domination, the concept of legal equality of women has not been able to demolish the traditional prejudices nurtured by man regarding instability of women to hold top positions in various fields of service. Various psychologists and physiologists have proved that repeated demonstration through the access can make you feel the reality of the statement- Educating girls is very important.

Worldwide survey on girl’s education: Lack of education for girls and women in Afghanistan is the result of a number of barriers that are outlined even today. In many countries, it has been seen that girls go to school only because they have female teachers to teach.  They feel free to disclose their issues and thoughts more liberally than being with the male teachers. The picture of Nigeria is also somewhat the same. There are less female teachers in Nigeria as per a recent update. Better educated girls can make a better arrangement by making decisions towards a productive life. Notions of girl’s inferiority thrive on ignorance. A more active role in local bodies and state policies will accelerate the process of empowerment of women. In South Asian countries importance of Girl’s Education has been crucial. The economic conditions have become a source of strength for those who are from well to do family backgrounds. For those girls who are from the financially underprivileged background, the government policies are working to promote them.

Empowering women towards life: It is important to empower women towards every sphere of life where challenges will prove their importance. It is possible through education only. Educating a girl child is much more than getting girls into schools. In developing countries worldwide, the importance of girl’s education is given the great place of honor. Education not only gives them the power to deal but also ensures them about feeling safe and complete regarding all levels of education. Various NGOs, other organization and also government funds are being raised in order to give the girl child a scope to shine in life.

Strategic development priority: A strategic development priority is given to a girl’s education. Better educated women are tending to be healthier than the uneducated section. The importance of Girl’s Education in many countries today has reached a star level of success. The primary and the secondary enrolments in schools are taken much care. It has been reported through a survey that globally about 62 million girls especially those who are ranking between the ages of 6 and 15 leave or drop out from schools for many reasons. This calculates to about 4 million girls across the region that remain excluded from the light of education.

Poverty remains factor to cease: There are about 16 million girls between the ages of 6 and 11 who had never entered the school campus with boys. The number is just the same with the girls in South and West Asia. Poverty remains the most important factor determining whether a girl will access to education. The importance of educating girl child will reinforce the girls in poorest quintile households in these countries which complete the development of girls coming from the poor background. The impact of violence also has negative management in education and curbs the safety among education. The picture in Afghanistan is little different. The parents are afraid to send their daughters to school. This is due to the violence directed against girls.

A global picture altogether: The worldwide picture of the education in girls shows that girls can overcome barriers that are caused by poverty. Not only needs this it also sketches the picture of cultural norms and practices. The nongovernment organizations the private sectors and the government policies have taken up the responsibility to educate the girl child. The multi-sector approaches will help to overcome challenges that would include problems. Ending girl child’s early marriage is also important.
